Sleeping Beauty: The Moscow Ballet
The Russian touring company, La Classique, will be performing Tchaikovsky’s classical ballet, as choreographed by Edwardian ballet master Marius Petipa. Fairytale characters will come to life during this breathtaking performance! Hawick Reivers Festival
Life in the mid-16th century is recreated in the beautiful town of Hawick from the 27th to the 29th of March. Musicians and crafts-people, markets and stalls will line the streets and transport the town into the Renaissance era. There will also be a spectacular bonfire and firework display on Saturday the 28th to accompany the magic!
Roman Empire: Power & People
The McManus, Dundee’s splendid Gothic revival-style art gallery and museum, is currently the temporary home of the Roman Collection in Scotland. Roman Empire: Power & People brings together over 160 stunning pieces from the British Museum to explore the story of one of the most powerful empires the world has ever seen. Highlights include sculpture from the villas of the Emperors Tiberius and Hadrian, coins from the famous Hoxne treasure, beautiful jewellery and even near-perfectly preserved children’s clothing from Roman Egypt. The exhibition is on until the 10th of May, and admission is free.
Hobbycrafts Exhibition
The more creative among you will surely enjoy a visit to the popular Hobbycrafts show where you’ll find all the very latest supplies and ideas in the world of stitching and creative crafts. There will also be lots of special features to enjoy, such as free workshops, talks and demonstrations. The event will tale place from the 5th to the 8th of March in Glasgow’s SECC.
